Chinese smartphone and electronics maker Xiaomi has revealed the roll-out schedule of MIUI 9 for the various devices. According to a report by Chinese website MyDrivers.com, Xiaomi will roll out the updates to Mi 6 and Remdi Note 4X on 11 August 2017. The report also reveals that 11 more Xiaomi devices will receive MIUI 9 on 25 August 2017.
These devices to receive the update include Mi Max, Max 2, Redmi 4X, Mi Mix, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s and 5s Plus, Mi 4s and 4c, Mi 5c and Mi Max.
In September the company will start the third round of updates where a number of entry level devices such as Redmi 2A and Redmi 1/1S will be receiving the update as well. We are not sure if this time line if for China or if it is indeed the timeline for the global rollout of the update. If these dates don’t align with the global rollout then we can expect the dates for international rollout to follow shortly.
The MIUI 9 packs a number of upgrades such as the Smart app launcher, Smart Assistant and image search. It also includes an improved haptic feed along with CPU acceleration.
This comes weeks after the company announced its latest device the Xiaomi Mi 5X. The device will be powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It will also pack a 5.5-inch full HD display with a full metal unibody design.
