Samsung Galaxy A8+ gets a price cut in India

NEW DELHI: Samsung launched its Galaxy A8+ smartphone in India in January this year. The company launched the handset at Rs 32,990 and the smartphone has now got a price cut. The Samsung Galaxy A8+ is now selling at Rs 30,990 after the price drop of Rs 2,000.

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ is seen as a competition to the OnePlus 5T, Nokia 8 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. The smartphone is exclusively available on Amazon and customers can also avail no cost EMI offer from all the major banks.

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ comes with the same Infinity Edge display

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ comes with the same Infinity Edge display as the Galaxy S8 andGalaxy S8+ and is the first smartphone of the company to come with dual selfie camera. It sports a 16MP primary camera and 8MP secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture each. The selfie camera setup is capable of clicking portrait mode shots. Samsung is calling it the Live Focus feature, that will let users create a ‘bokeh’ effect in images before and after clicking the shot. The rear of the device houses a 16MP camera with LED flash.

Measuring 59.9 x 75.7 x 8.3mm, the Samsung Galaxy A8+ comes with a 6-inch FHD Super AMOLED Infinity Display of 2220 x 1080p resolution. The display is protected with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass and also comes with an Always On feature.

The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7885 processor with Mali-G71 GPU. The handset offers 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB by adding a microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy A8+ comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and has IP68 rating which makes it dust and water resistant. Weighing 191g, the device is backed by a 3500mAh battery which promises to deliver up to 23 hours of talk time and 19 hours of video playback.
